This is another excellent "Franklin" release. This story is all about some of the issues Franklin faces with his sister, Harriet, who is now a toddler. Franklin likes being a big brother, but when Harriet starts thinking that his dog Sam is hers, he begins to see things in a different light. (And if you know about Franklin, then you know how important Sam is to him.) Fortunately, like a lot of brother/sister quarrels, this is only a temporary problem and Franklin learns that Harriet isn't so bad after all. Each page of the story is beautifully illustrated and it reads well also.

If your child loves Franklin, he'll love this book! Franklin learns that even though he doesn't like being a big brother ALL of the time...he loves his sister very much, and she really loves him. I would recommend it to all Franklin lovers!

Feeling overwhelmed by the amazing accomplishments of his friends, Franklin wants to feel important, too. Brashly he fibs about how many flies he can eat in the blink of an eye. Then he must deal with the consequences of his lie. As Franklin learns about proper conduct and relationships, children can identify with the situations of this gentle friend. They may need help in understanding what a fib or a lie is. Now if the authors would only write about Franklin's Awful Word or Franklin is Rude.

Franklin is the cutest little turtle. I love all the Franklin books. They each teach an important lesson of what children go through growing up. The illustrations are marvelous. Very bright and colorful.

Here's Franklin with his friends in FRANKLIN GOES TO DAY CAMP. It's an excellent way to introduce kids to the idea of day camp and to the concept of journaling. There are word games and puzzles, a maze, and a board game, all surrounded by beautiful, bright illustrations. It's also good for a child who's sick or stuck indoors on a rainy day. I suggest using a pencil on the puzzles so you can erase and do them again. Or cover the page with plastic and write on that. The affordable book works on several levels: story, journal, games.

This book was great! My 6 and 7 year olds loved it. I liked how it was set up as a journal, that Franklin kept each day he went to camp. This was something my children could relate to because they kept and write in journals at school. My children especially enjoyed doing the activities that went along with Franklin's camp activities. The book is very well thought out and my help alleviate some camp anxieties your child my have.

Franklin books are very good to read because they are always teaching you something new. Franklin is absolutely thrilled to have Bear spend a night. It also let the kids know it's ok to be homesick. I especailly liked how Franklin tried to make Bear feel better. In the book Franklin goes back to his room to make Bear feel more comfortable and gives Bunny a hug and says Good night to Bunny. In television episode, Franklin called Bear's parents and let him talked to his parents. Then they playe with the flashlight doing signals to Bears parents. Even though there is a slight difference between the book and the episode, they both had a good time. It teaches how you can make your friends feel less homesick whenthey spend a night with you.

A perfect book for a young child to have before their first sleepover anywhere. It lets the child know it's okay to be homesick and that your friends or relatives are there for you when you're away from home. I know my daughter learns from every Franklin book and this one is no exception.

This story is about Franklin's love for soccer. He likes everything about soccer, even his team's uniforms. Sometimes he even wore his purple and yellow jersey and matching knee pads when he wasn't playing soccer.
Frankklin practiced in the park before every game, he would kick the ball with the inside of his foot, but the problem was the ball never went where he wanted it to. No matter how many times he kicked it, it always went where he didn't intend it to go.
Goose was just walking into the park and she watched Franklin's ball fly the other way into the bushes. They both told each other that they thought they would never score a goal. Goose had trouble because she always forgot that the rules say that she can't touch the ball unless she is the goalie, but Goose's wings were so big that it was hard to keep from touching the ball.
Beaver walked up and told them that she had trouble becase her tail was so long and heavy that it dragged her down so much that it was hard to run, but the biggest problem they all had was that their team had never won a game. Their coach always told them to go out and have fun before avery game, and they did, but it would be nice to feel what it was like to win.
That day they lost another game. It was an embarassing loss too. Franklin didn't score a goal when he could have and the game ended with all of the team's players ending up in a pile while they were chasing the ball. Coach told them that they had to work as a team and share the ball.
Bear's winning team walked across the field and lined up for handshakes with the other team. As Bear came to Franklin he said, "Nice try Franklin." Franklin went into his shell didn't come out. Bear was bouncing the soccer ball up and down and asked Franklin to come out. Bear bounced the ball down and as it came up Franklin came out of his shell and the ball hit him in the head and went flying straight at Goose. Goose spread her wings and stopped the ball dead in it's tracks.

Franklin knew what his team had to do to start scoring some goals.
His team practiced everyday until the next game and they were really excited to show the other team what they could do now.
It was time for their last game and they were ready to show the other team what they had been working on.
They went out onto the field and were ready to go, but in the first few minutes of the game Bear's team scored a goal. Franklin's coach called a timeout and told them that it was time for their special play. They went back out on the field and put the play into action and they scored, but it wasn't enough Bear's team scored in the final minutes of the game and won two to one.
Franklin's team coach gave ribbons to everyone for their great teamwork and effort and after they all went and got ice cream to celebrate.
This would be a good book to read to children because it explains the importance of teamwork. It also explains to kids that it's not always about winning but having fun. Kids need to know about these things because if they don't they can get to competitive and they could get agressive when they don't get what they want.

This was a very helpful tool to teach my daughter the value of being a team player. It also was helpfull in pointing out that everyone has special skills you just have to look for them. This book also is excelent in pointing out that winning is not what is most important!

We really enjoyed this Franklin book. It shows kids that 1)never give up and 2)everybody struggles trying to learn something new. Franklin thinks his friends will make fun of him since he still has his training wheels on his bike. Franklin then remembers that his friends all had trouble learning new things as well. Franklin then devises an interesting way to learn to ride his bike. Its precious.

My 5 year old son got this book for Christmas and we have read it every night since! It depicts the struggle for a young Turtle, Franklin, as he wants to learn to ride a two wheeler like his friends, the peer pressure involved and his overcoming his fears to finally accomplish his goal. Excellent story!

This is a very touching book. It shows emotions of what happens when a close friend moves away. Frankin takes it out on everybody. But in the end his father figures out that it was Otter's moving that upset Franklin. His father told him how they can still stay in contact with each other. Franklin sent Otter a puzzle that he made.

Franklin, our favorite little turtle, struggles through the day after his good friend Otter moves away. Everything seems to go wrong until he finally has a relieving talk with dad and realizes that he hasn't really lost his buddy, but that their relationship simlpy has to take on a new dimension. This is yet another greatly illustrated, wonderful book in the Franklin series, which helps teach life's lessons and morals to our young ones.

My three year old son loves this book. We read it every night and he is able to feel what Franklin is feeling, which is great. This is one book that keeps his attention. The first time he saw this book he screamed in delight about Frankiln having a blanket just like his. This is such a nice book for all who have a blanket or for parents who had blankets.

My daughter and I love this book. After nearly 4 years of cuddling her blanket is tattered and torn just like Franklins. This is the first book she has been able to fully grasp the feelings of the characters in the book and relate to them. For any kid who has a special blanket and felt the panic of it missing this book will bring a smile. It let her know she is not the only one who loves a blanket.

This Book is one of my favorites. Franklin starts off in the beginning really upset because His grandparents couldn't make it for thanksgiving this year. It had always been a tradition for the family to get together and celebrate the holiday. So to make e Franklin happy his parents went out and invited other people in the town to come to dinner for a surprise. Not knowing Franklin invited his own people. So when thanksgiving morning came tons of people were at the house. And they all had a great thanksgiving. I would recommend this book to children 4-10. It was really cute and had great detailed pictures.

Thanksgiving often gets covered up with the rush for Christmas and we were looking for something to help us properly recognize this family holiday. Sharon Jennings gives us a warm story of Franklin's family that fits the bill. My 4 year old loves Franklin and this story is helping bridge the time between Halloween and Thanksgiving by giving us a family story worth sharing.
The colors of fall jump off the page and engage both our children, even our 6 year old. If you enjoy Franklin you will want to add this to you child's holiday book collection.

My daughter loved this story as did I as the emphasis on Valentine's Day was about friendship and taking a day and celebrating friendships. As Franklin lost all of his Valentine's in the mud and didn't have any for his friends, he couldn't believe they still wanted to give him their cards and letters. He realized that friends like you for who you are and not what you can give them. As a parent, if feel this is one lesson that your kids can't learn too often.

My daughter loved this story of Frankin making his own Valentine's for his friends at school and losing them in a puddle in his hurry to get to the bus. He becomes upset and can't believe, even though he doesn't have cards to give to them, they still want him to have the ones they've made. In the end, Frankin decides to make "Friendship Day" the day after Valentine's Day with cards he's made and carefully put in his bag. It just teaches a great lesson of how nice people can be and how to appreciate the friends you have.
